The Whispering Corridor

The old boarding school stood on a hill, surrounded by dense trees that seemed to hide secrets from the outside world. For decades, students had shared stories about the third-floor corridor, a narrow passage that connected the dormitories to an abandoned library. Most people dismissed the tales as harmless legends. However, one student would soon discover the terrifying truth.

Arjun had recently transferred to the school. Curious by nature, he enjoyed exploring places others avoided. On his first week, he noticed that nobody used the third-floor corridor after sunset. When he asked why, his classmates simply warned him to stay away.

One rainy evening, a power outage plunged the school into darkness. Armed with a flashlight, Arjun decided to investigate the mysterious hallway. As he climbed the stairs, he felt an unusual chill. The corridor stretched before him, silent and empty.

Halfway down the passage, he heard a whisper.

At first, he thought it was the wind. But the voice grew clearer.

"Help me..."

The words echoed from the abandoned library at the end of the hall. His heart pounded, yet curiosity pushed him forward.

The library door creaked open on its own. Dust covered the shelves, and broken furniture lay scattered across the floor. Suddenly, the whisper returned, now directly behind him.

Arjun spun around, but nobody was there.

His flashlight flickered.

Then he saw a girl standing between the bookshelves. She wore an old school uniform and stared at him with pale, lifeless eyes.

"Why are you here?" she asked.

Before Arjun could answer, the room grew colder. The girl slowly pointed toward a hidden corner of the library. Trembling, he walked closer and discovered a faded photograph. It showed students from decades ago, including the mysterious girl.

The next morning, Arjun learned the truth. The girl had vanished during a storm nearly fifty years earlier. Her body was never found.

That night, the corridor whispers stopped forever. Some believed Arjun had finally helped the restless spirit find peace. Others wondered whether the ghost was merely waiting for another curious visitor.
