The Last Train Home
Rahul missed the final evening bus and decided to take a late-night train instead.
The station was nearly empty. Only a handful of passengers waited on the platform.
At exactly midnight, the train arrived.
The doors opened silently.
Rahul stepped inside and noticed something odd. Every passenger wore old-fashioned clothing, as though they belonged to another era.
The train began moving.
Minutes later, Rahul checked his phone. There was no signal.
Outside the windows, thick fog covered everything.
An elderly man sitting nearby leaned closer.
"You shouldn't be here," he whispered.
Before Rahul could respond, the man disappeared.
Vanished.
Without a sound.
Panic spread through the carriage. One by one, passengers faded away until Rahul was completely alone.
The train eventually stopped at an unfamiliar station.
A rusted sign displayed a name he had never seen before.
As he stepped onto the platform, he noticed newspaper clippings hanging on a wall. One headline caught his attention.
"Midnight Express Derails: All Passengers Killed."
The article was dated forty years earlier.
Rahul's blood ran cold.
He realized he had boarded the ghost train from the tragedy.
The station lights suddenly went out.
When they returned, he found himself back at his original station.
The train was gone.
To this day, railway workers occasionally report seeing a mysterious train arrive at midnight, carrying passengers who never seem to leave.
